About Us

Founded in 1970, Indianapolis Neurosurgical Group (ING) has performed more than 150,000 neurosurgical consultations and built a reputation as one of the largest and most progressive neurosurgical practices in North America. Our vast experience with disorders of the brain, spine, and nerves enables us to treat many conditions that are rarely handled in other neurosurgical practices.

The physicians of ING have ensured superior care of our patients by being among the first neurosurgical groups in the United States to offer super-specialization in the treatment of brain and spine disorders. Super-specialization enables individual ING physicians to gain expertise not only in the management of common disorders, such as low back pain, but also rare or complex conditions, such as disorders requiring spinal reconstruction and deep lesions of the brain.

Neurosurgical Leadership
ING has always been committed to offering the most current and advanced treatments available. We introduced many neurosurgical advances in Indiana including: the first CT scan, neurosurgery using microscopes and lasers; outpatient spine surgery; transphenoidal pituitary surgery; intra-operative angiography, radiosurgery, and brain mapping. We were instrumental in developing the largest and most sophisticated trauma center in Indiana at Methodist Hospital.

ING provides neurosurgical consultations for the Indianapolis Colts, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and also most of the college and high school sports teams in Indiana.

Through the Think First Program, ING has helped to educate more than 40,000 Indiana school children on the prevention of brain and spinal cord injuries.
