People through the centuries have looked at animals and plants and the enviroments that these things live in as just things, things that can be trampled, killed, burned, slashed, and polluted. There were exemptions which included the ancient Egyptians which worshipped Sobek (-suchus, which makes up some of the species names, is actually a version of the word Sobek), the crocodilian god, sometimes to the point of even having them mummified. But this is not the case anymore. Many species of animals and plants have lived in certain areas were we have invaded longer then we have and when these animals cross our streets or sit in our yard we see the need to kill it. That is not our right, If we continue to hurt mother earth in this manner without any attempt to fix the wrong and make right what should have never happened in the first place, then I will be ashamed to call myself part of the human race. Maybe we as humans should step back, take a look around, and think about working with nature instead of against it. For you, me, family, and friends, Its up to us and only us to prevent it.
